Mexico offers palm-fringed beaches, exotic jungles and busy cities full of shops and tourist attractions. Mexico City is the capital of Mexico – an ancient Meso-American city which is home to the Pyramid of the Sun and the Pyramid of the Moon. Mexico City is also home to one of the largest public plazas in the world – El Zocalo, as well the largest bullring – the Plaza de toros Mexico. The National Museum of Anthropology and History is a highly recommended tour during a visit to Mexico City too. The gulf coast area of Veracruz is home to some fascinating archaeological sites – the ceremonial centers at Tres Zapotes and the ancient city ruins of Zempoala and El Tajin are well worth visiting.
