Day 1: Hanoi – Laocai – Sapa – Cat Cat – Y Linh Ho villages ( 3hours to 5hours trekking, 7km to 10km trekking). The driver and guide will pick you up at your hotel and transfer to train station to catch the night train to Lao cai. Arriving at Lao cai train station in the early morning, you will be welcomed by Viet, the local guide and your driver, being transferred to hotel in Sapa town. Having breakfast before trekking or going by car ( up to you) to visit Cat Cat and Y linh Ho villages which are inhabited by Black Hmong tribe, ( there are two routes to go to these villages: main road and mountain trails). A long the way, we will go to visit some native houses to discover the local culture, tradition and custom as well as study how the tribe people make handicraft from natural material such as: hemp, indigo. Continuing to trek down hill to visit waterfall where we can take a rest and watch the local performance at the former hydropower which was built by French before walking to visit Fairy Stream and Y Linh Ho village along the mountain trails. Returning to Sapa town to have lunch. You will be free in the afternoon to discover the Sapa Market or walking around Sapa lake. Sleeping at the hotel.
Day 2: Sapa – Suoi Ho – Matra – Taphin villages – Sapa – Lao cai – Hanoi( from 4 to 5 hour trekking, 10 km to 12 km trekking) Breakfast at the hotel. We leave Sapa town, trekking or going by car( up to you) to Suoi Ho village to see tea plantations and cardamom gardens. Keep following the mountain trails to visit the hospitable villages of Black Hmong tribe in Matra village. After passing the school and scenic view en route, a picnic lunch will be served at the local home stay. After lunch, we continue our trek to Taphin village to see Red Dzao minority people and handicraft shops as well as black smith as well as drum making by local people here. In the afternoon, you will reach the road where driver is waiting for you to transport to Sapa. Taking shower and having dinner before returning to Lao Cai train station to catch the night train to Hanoi.

Tips

The most beautiful time in Sapa is from July to the end of September because this is the rice season, it is the summer time of course but it is not warm in Sapa, the temperature is from 16 degree to 25 degree, it is really cool here. If you really want to discover the real thing of Sapa, I highly recommend you to contact to Mr.Viet, the local guide in Sapa, he can bring you to some beautiful villages but no tourist there.
